It's been awhile since I've read this, but I'll try to remember things. For one, I do remember that, unlike most other BDSM books, this one doesn't focus on the how-tos like a lot of the other books focus on. This doesn't really focus on the safety of BDSM or anything like that - instead, it seems to focus a whole lot more on the actual relationship and sensual experience of a person participating in BDSM. It talks about why a person would choose to participate in S/M, how to take care of someone who is in the lifestyle, and other key points like that. As you could guess, this is written from the point of a Dominant, and while there are some sections where his submissive gives her opinion, for the most part, it tends to stay as his opinion. The book was a relatively interesting read, but I have to say that I was a little disappointed because I found that the style of writing got boring pretty quickly. I had to fight to finish the book since it just had gotten a little boring. However, this could have been because I knew most of what was included in the book. I would definitely call this a book that every budding-Dominant should pick up to learn some of the basis though.
